The main goal of our webpage is to show you the the price that we have to pay as college students to become independent. There are three aspects that are important in the process of becoming independent. They are:

  1. Choices - Some of us choose to continue living at home while others have moved away. Living at home is not as bad as it may seem; it allows you to save money and have the freedom to come and go as you please. On the other hand, living on your own has many benefits. Your choice of living situation is just one of the many decisions that you make in the process of changing from high school students to independent college students.
  2. Belonging - The University of Massachusetts at Lowell is about taking advantage of its caring staff and friendly atmosphere. Through its wide variety of sports, clubs, and sororities & fraternities it offers a sense of belonging for everyone, and allows you to meet people with similar interests as yours. A world of opportunity awaits you at UMass Lowell!
  3.  Responsibilities - Freedom comes at a price. Whether living at home or on your own, certain responsibilities come into play (such as paying the bills, cleaning and dealing with obnoxious roomates!) A lot goes with being independent but its all worth it the end!

We all chose to come to UML and have not regretted it; we think it has a lot to offer you and  that you should consider coming here. Hope to see you soon!!!
